What is Home Improvement?

Basically, home improvement or what better known as home renovation, is a simple process of making additions and repairs to your home in order to improve and strengthen its structure as well as appearance, thus making it truly one of a kind.

3 Tips On How to Save Money Decorating Your Home

Every now and then it’s nice to spruce up your home, relieving it from that tired look that you have become used to. The trouble is in these austere times everyone is trying to save a bit of money so it’s nice to be able to make your home sparkle without breaking the bank. Here are 3 ideas to enliven your home that shouldn’t cost the earth and who knows, with the money you save, you could treat yourself to a little something for all your hard work!

1) Simple rearranging

This shouldn’t cost you anything but you’d be surprised how much difference can be made by just changing the focus of a room. Moving the furniture around and maybe even facing it in a different direction works particularly well if you remove clutter at the same time. The new feeling of space and alternative focus can fool the eye into imagining a complete makeover – all for free!

2) Spruce up what you already have

Instead of splashing out on completely new furniture consider giving what you have an overhaul. Have your lounge suites reupholstered and give a new lick of paint or varnish to any wood furniture or mirror frames. Small touches can make a huge difference in the overall feel of a room, particularly if they lighten the colour scheme but in the long-run are a lot cheaper than buying totally new items.

3) Bathroom refresher

The easiest room to update is the bathroom as towels, bath-mats and paint can be reasonably priced and the overall effect can be dazzling. There is usually only a small amount of painting required in a bathroom, unless you’re blessed with a superbly cavernous space, but for the rest of us (who aren’t jealous, honest!) it should only need a small tin of paint to complete. All it takes is a few updated towels, maybe curtains or a blind and a few little touches like a cabinet or shelving, particularly if you can source these from elsewhere in your home. And before you know it the whole room can be transformed into a restful idyll away from the bustling family outside.

All in all, if you are looking to update your home but are desperate to remain on a budget (or even no budget in the case of the first tip!) then try these and see if they can make a difference for you.
